HOW TO APPLY WINGED EYELINER TO ENHANCE THE EYES

Let’s Decode it! A proven staple that's been around for decades, winged eyeliner isn’t going to disappear any time soon. And, just as there's more than one eye shape, there's more than one way to apply winged eyeliner. So, before you rush to pick up your liner and start drawing, it may be worth reading on… there may be different eyeliner wings with the power to take your look to the next level!

UPTURNED EYES

Grab some TattooStudio Liquid Ink Eyeliner and apply a thin layer to both lash lines. Next you want to draw on a small, soft wing which extends out past the lower lash line. Again, draw a dot where you would like the wing to end, about half a centimeter from the outer corner of your eye, and connect the eyeliner on the lower lash to the dot.

MONOLID EYES

A common misconception is that those with monolids can’t wear winged eyeliner as it will be hidden by their lid…well we’re here to prove you wrong with the floating winged eyeliner!

With your index finger, pull your lid down and find the crease. Now, pretend that the crease is your upper lash line and from here create a smokey winged eyeliner look using TattooStudio Smokey Gel Pencil Eyeliner. When you open your eyes, you will be able to appreciate your amazing eyeliner skills in all their glory.

HOODED EYES

Do you spend a lot of time perfecting your winged eyeliner for it just to be hidden by your eyelid? Then the bat wing eyeliner look is for you.

Begin by drawing a long line from the outer corner of your eye diagonally upwards towards the tip of your eyebrow. Next, draw a second fine line, working your way from the outer edge of your eyelid crease to the end of the first line. Color in the space between the lines to create a solid triangle-shape. Finally, apply a thin layer of eyeliner directly along the entirety of the upper lash line.

ALMOND EYES

If you find yourself batting almond eyes, then the world is your oyster. Thanks to your eyes’ equal proportions on the upper and lower lash lines, most winged eyeliner looks fantastic on you, whether it’s a classic or bat wing.

DOWNTURNED EYES

The goal for eyeliner on downturned eyes is to create the illusion of an eye lift. Luckily for you, you’re probably already an expert at the winged eyeliner look that is best for you: the classic wing. Start by drawing a line along your upper lash line with Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner, stopping just before you get to the outer corner. Next, draw a dot where you would like the wing to end. Connect the eyeliner at the outer corner of your eye to the dot.
